Hockey pucks are made of rubber. Today, hockey pucks are only made in four countries, they are Canada, Russia, China and Czech Republic.
They were first made in 1875. Hockey pucks can go as fast as 100 miles per hour! About 5,000 pucks can be sold in a typical week! If you’ve ever seen a puck up close you probably noticed that the edge of the puck has a bunch of bumps or grooves.
For those who have seen a hockey game before you probably notice that there is no ball. If you think about it, so many other sports use balls. In fact most sport names have ”ball” in it. Below, is a picture of an official NHL hockey puck.
So, are hockey pucks cool? If so, why? Have you seen a puck before?
